After checking out of our apartment we headed straight for the Port, the suggested check-in time being 13:30, we got there at 12:00 and had no problem walking straight in to the processing area and were on the ship in the dining room by 12:30, a smooth transaction Jo called it.
It is funny being back on the Legend of the Seas, the ship is the same, though it hs been refurbished throughout with new carpets, a couple of new restaurants, so looks a little different, but still the same ship. The company philosophy seems to have altered quite a bit though, they seem more intent on getting your money, having guys walk around spruiking the restaurants at $95 Euro a head, we think not. We were not impressed also this morning when they tried selling us transfer tickets for a bus from the port to Marseilles a journey of about 8 kilometers @ 30 Euro's each, we opted to walk out of the terminal for the local bus, only to find a free shuttle supplied by the harbour authority no more than 500 hundred meters from the dock.
Our first night back we found ourselves back in the Schooner Lounge, with a European guy at the piano singing the hits like you never heard them before, Jo got right into it and dragged me along with her. I ended up doing a few rounds with Captain Morgan, the old sea dog got the better of me today, very very seedy! Who ever said Mojito's are good for you?
Made it a very slow start to the day this morning, only thing that made it better was knowing Jo was suffering as much if not a little more, we both pushed on, not saying a lot, just waiting for the other to crack, been surprised at both our comebacks, expect a lot quieter night tonight, it is good to be sailing, Barcelona tomorrow.
BTW cost $25US to spend 50 minutes online yesterday, not a cheap exercise this blogging, have to make this quick!
