We had a terrific day in Lake Como, up for breakfast at 9:00, then a stroll through the village to catch a ferry which would take us to Campo, Lenno, Termezzo, Villa Carlotta, San Giovanni, Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and back to our starting point Lezzeno.
The tickets were 15 euros each and for that you could jump on and off any of the slow moving ferries as often as you liked. It was an amazing day cruising along sight seeing the beautiful villa's and villages along the way. We took the cooks tour through Villa Carlotta, former home to many senators and at one time the President, the gardens were spectacular as was the villa itself.
At Bellagio we walked the cobbled streets and paths, one went up and up, when we got to the top we found a restaurant with a beautiful garden setting, we stop and had lunch here, dining on cold meats, salmon and prawns, with a little rock melon thrown in for good measure. We then ate wonderful pasta dishes, it was bellissimo.
Finishing the day with a glass of red on the balcony as the sun started down over the lake, the only disappointing thing being the fact we leave here tomorrow, another day on the lake would have been nice.
