Dingle through to the Ring of Kerry and Cork

We woke up to a misty rain in dingle, such a contrast from the day before, though the wind had completely gone so that at least was a good thing.

After having breakfast we sat and chatted to Janet for a while about Dingle and life in general, it was so comfortable in the sun room we could have stayed all day, but we had to get to our next stop Cork.
It is probably a 2 hour drive to Cork the quick way, but we wanted to see as much of the Ring of Kerry as we could so the trip would end up taking us 9 hours.  The Ring of Kerry was beautiful, even though a lot of it was hidden away by the mist and low clouds, but we loved what we could see and later as the day went on the mist turned into rain and things did become more clear as the day progressed.

When we did make it into Cork we were unable to find our accommodation and went way past it, eventually resorting to ringing Geraldine, our host, whom gave us directions to a meeting point and we followed her home from there, it turned out our first attempt we were no more thana hundred metres from the house.  The house is enormous, I have counted 7 bedrooms and at least four living areas, our room is on the first floor, it has an en-suite and large walk in robe and the floor is heated, it is very comfortable and great value at 37 Euro's a night with cooked breakfast.  Our host is a lovely lady, as is her 13 year old son Sean, Jo asked if there would a laundry in town, Geraldine then offered to wash the clothes and all Jo would need do is hang them out.  We came home tonight to find the laundry on our doorstep all ready to go.

After a bit of a lay in this morning we headed of for a village called Kinsale, it was gorgeous place, reminded me of Fremantle and was just as packed on a Sunday.  We had a great lunch of fish and chips at a restaurant overlooking the river, which was a mud plain when we sat for lunch with boats sitting on dry land, as we dined the tide came in and the boats were floating as we left.  We took a walk around town and cam across a info board about a fort close by, somehow we managed to find Fort Charles and we spent the next 2 hours scampering all over it, it was such a great place and there were few restrictions to stop you doing so, it was a great afternoon.
