Three days in London is clearly not enough time
Three days in London is clearly not enough time, we have seen so much, but at the same time so little, I love the place it is unbelievable and we have had a wonderful time here. Whilst it has been cool, we only had one small shower which lasted about 5 minutes, we had about twice that time basked in sunshine, but that is London.
I have been really impressed with the food here, it has been beautiful everywhere, even the hamburgers we ate last night were the best I have ever had and the service was excellent to.
Along with heaps of sight seeing, we experienced the London Eye, witnessed the Changing of the Guards quite by accident, we were lost at the time and never did find the walking tour we were meant to do, we climbed all over the Tower Bridge, rode up front on the top deck of a Double Decker bus and rode the underground tube. I walked along the shore of the Thames, having ventured down a very steep staircase which was both narrow and had no railings, Jo was to scared to join me, it was fun until I bashed my head on the way back to the top of the stairs on a steel barrier, passers by who had not seen it, thought we were a bit crazy as we laughed so hard for no apparent reason.
One surprising thing that has surprised me is the way strangers just come up and have a conversation with you, it happened on a number of occasions including a family of three asking if they could sit with us at a pub where we were having a quiet drink, they then ordered lunch and chatted throughout their meal until we had to leave and left them to it.
London was only ever planned as a staging point in this trip, a place to catch up to the time difference and recover from a long flight before our real holiday starts in Ireland, we are refreshed and raring to go, but we leave a little sad at not having a little more time to further experience some of the places we have discovered, so we will be back one day! If I had not already been bitten by the travel bug, it has got me now.
